Battery pack and battery-cabinet replacement

The GXT is online double-conversion, every cycle of utility power feeds through the rectifier and inverter, so the load sees a continuous true-sinewave output. The trade-off is that the battery sits hot at float, which compresses the lead-acid service life relative to a line-interactive unit. Plan for three to five years on internal battery packs, longer in conditioned data closet space. Higher-VA GXT models accept external battery cabinets (BP72V90ART2U, BP240V13RT4U and similar) that extend autonomy from a few minutes to half an hour or more, we replace those on the same cycle.

True online double-conversion topology

Lab equipment, medical imaging modalities, broadcast video infrastructure, financial trading workstations and laboratory instruments need the clean sinewave the GXT provides. Line-interactive UPS introduces a brief transfer-to-battery on utility events that some sensitive loads do not tolerate. When a Canadian buyer specifies a GXT-class UPS, this is usually the reason, and it shapes how we recommend battery service intervals and load-test protocols.

Power-module and main-board repair

Common GXT faults: inverter overload after capacitor aging on the DC bus, fan failure causing thermal shutdown on higher-VA units, IntelliSlot card lockup, and battery-disconnected alarms after a poorly-torqued battery terminal. We diagnose on-site with module-level support where parts remain available.

IS-UNITY and SNMP card support

Liebert GXT4 and GXT5 ship with the IS-UNITY communication card slot. We configure SNMP traps to a building-management or NMS platform, set up graceful-shutdown integration with VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, Linux KVM and Citrix Hypervisor, and integrate with Vertiv Trellis or third-party DCIM platforms.
